As the frigid temperatures continue, so does its effect on your skin!
Winter Skin Care tipi #4 is all about hydration.
Here are 6 actions you should take to keep your skin properly hydrated and looking/feeling its best during the harsh winter months:
1️⃣ Use a quality moisturizing lotion: Unsure what to use? Book a consult and we can review what options are best for your skin type.
2️⃣ Avoid harsh air: Cold, dry air can sap more than 25% of your skin's ability to retain moisture! Limit your skin's exposure to the elements and if you do have to go out cover exposed skin with warm, soft clothing.
3️⃣ Avoid long, hot showers: Prolonged exposure to hot water can strip natural moisturizers. Shorter shower times under lukewarm water temps are best.
4️⃣ Humidify! Dial up your humidity level from your HVAC system or use a standalone humidifier if your system doesn't have a humidifier connected.
5️⃣ Drink up…wisely! Tea, coffee, and hot cocoa might be nice on a cold day but caffeine can dehydrate the body even more. Choose decaf and limit the number of cups! Drink plenty of water and other fluids like electrolytes.
