END OF LIFE DOULA SERVICES – $40.00 CAD/HOUR (two hours minimum)

The following is a sampling of how an End of Life Doula can be of service to the dying person and their loved ones during the end of life transition via a video call, in home visit, at the hospital, hospice or senior's residence according to their wishes and on their terms.

END OF LIFE DOULA CARE PLAN – This plan details how the dying person wants their last months, days and hours to be lived with the focus on living and experiencing the best day possible.  For example: they want their dying process to be treated as a natural transition with no oxygen mask or intravenous line at the conclusion of a good life, surrounded by those they love including their beloved pets in a candle light room with their favorite songs playing.

END OF LIFE DOCUMENTS – Discuss the value of having the dying person document their wishes legally while they are of clear and sound mind to insure their instructions are followed by medical staff, loved ones and funeral directors.

An Advanced Care Plan is a person's legally documented medical wishes on two forms called a Personal Directive and Goals of Care Designations.  The completed forms should be kept in the Green Sleeve that Emergency Workers will look for on or around a refrigerator.

The other two legal documents of great significance to have completed are a Will and An Enduring Power of Attorney

RESPITE CARE – A trusted life line to primary caregivers during the times when they feel overwhelmed by stepping in to take over the non-medical care of the person they are caring for, so they can take some well deserved time for themselves.

ENVIRONMENT – Create? a positive, sacred and relaxing environment for the person facing death according to their wishes.

POST DEATH SUPPORT – When a person dies, there are so many details to attend to. This can be overwhelming for those left to mourn,  Therefore, your End of Life Doula will continue to offer practical and emotional support to the family in the hours and days that follow and beyond,  We will continue to journey alongside them for as long as they need us.

THE BEDSIDE VIGIL – FEE NEGOTIATED

This is the time when a person moves into the active dying phase. Death may occur within hours, days or weeks.

The vigil for the dying person may be held at home, the hospital, hospice or any other care facility.

Your End of Life Doula is your dedicated nurturing presence guiding you through this natural process, focused solely on your family's needs.  We bridge the gaps of time offering reassurance when the medical team must shift their focus to other patients in their care.

MEDICAL ASSISTANCE IN DYING (MAID) DOULA SUPPORT – $500.00 CAD FLAT FEE

This is non-medical practical and emotional Doula support for the individual and their family as they prepare for the day when the MAID team administers this medical procedure.

Then on the day of the procedure, your End-of-Life Doula continues to be your nurturing and supportive presence, focused solely on your family's needs.  We remain long after the medical team's support comes to an end and those left behind are ready for the funeral home's to begin.

DOULA SUPPORT FOR THOSE WHO MOURN – $35.00 CAD/HOUR (two hours minimum)

Death leaves the grieving person with pain in their heart and an emptiness in their life.  They're not sure who they are now and how they will ever be able to live without the person they love.

Life goes on and with time so does the grieving person's support network leaving them feeling isolated and alone. This is when a Doula can be engaged to journey alongside them offering practical and emotional support.
